The Legend of the Lost Filipino Cowboy is a collection about being of mixed racial identity and the trials and tribulations that come along with being multi-cultural. This collection is for everyone who is of mixed heritage but it is told through my own experience of being half Filipino, half white and having been born and raised in Colorado.

With being mixed, I’ve never felt like I belonged fully to my communties because I’m not fully of those ethnic backgrounds. I’ve, like many others, have gone on a long journey to rediscover cultural traditions and history so that I may feel more grounded in my cultural heritage. While this collection speaks on this lonely road, it is also a celebration of all these different cultures in a mixed person coming together to create a different perspective as everyone has different experiences with their racial identity, even if they have the exact same racial identity and grew up in the same house hold as someone else.

I started my patterns with in Clo3D and did minor adjustments physically. To the right is the fourth look from the lineup above. The video to the left is the rendering for the Imperial Poncho Dress.
